Stock, Options, and Forex Analysis and Journal

March 7, 2022February 15, 2023

Stock Analysis | March 7, 2022

I don’t feel good. I’ve been browsing Reddit, and I’ve barely done any work today. I did enter trailing stops on the 2 options positions I’m in because they were both above .5R, but other than that, I haven’t done anything. I’m going to try to get started now (I have to use the bathroom, might not be super consistent), but I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to put on a trade. I’ll push to at least put one on in my practice account, but I don’t feel well, my stomach hurts, my head hurts and I think I’m quite anxious about this appointment today (which is a bit ironic because my anxiety is why I have this appointment, but still.) Fingers crossed. I just don’t want to make any stupid mistakes.

The S&P is pushing down again this morning, I said on Saturday that I’d expect weakness this week, and that appears to be true. At least right now. Price is, I’d say, within a resistance area, but it’s below what I’d consider some of the more firm areas of resistance (there’s one low from late January that makes up the absolute low of this range, that price is still quite above.) I do still anticipate more weakness, though there will probably be some up-days in the interim.

The VIX is up 4.5% today and appears to still be increasing overall. Even with equities dropping, I should be able to find some good volatility plays.

I already missed a trade, due to my being on reddit most of the morning, but I guess technically since I didn’t run any numbers, I didn’t miss it. CHPT, Chargepoint holdings, was retesting a resistance area for the second time last week, and looked like it had some breakout potential. I set an alert to let me know when price got back up to that breakout level, which triggered this morning. Looking at it now, price has pushed through that resistance area and is making a decent move up. That’s what I get for not doing what I’m supposed to be doing. I’m not beating myself up over it much, though, there’s opportunities abound to make money in the markets, this is almost a positive thing as I recognized something else and, at least initially, it’s moved in a way that I anticipated.
