Stock, Options, and Forex Analysis and Journal

Forex Analysis | April 30, 2020

Another considerable loss overnight. Had I not taken a second position, it would’ve been a negligible gain (which is better than a loss, but at this point, wouldn’t have mattered much..), so I guess I can’t be too upset about that decision. It’s one I probably won’t make again for a while, though. I’m not sure if I’m even going to trade today, but I’m still going to go through the process.

USD – N – Equities are down today, so it makes sense that this is up slightly, and on top of that, after a few down-days in a row, this has stalled out at some support. I’ll hold off on this today, as there doesn’t appear to be much weakness today, and I don’t feel comfortable taking this long

CAD – N – I still don’t like CAD’s pattern, especially right now when I’m probably not going to trade and I’m just seeing if there’s anything that seems too good to pass up

Today’s Pairs

EUR/GBP – Short

EUR/NZD – Short

EUR – S/N – This pushed lower again today, but only slightly and as of now is sitting essentially at it’s open. I’ll look at an EUR chart or two to see if there’s opportunity if it pushes back down, but I won’t chase

GBP – L/N – After pushing down below it’s base yesterday, this rallied today and is back within that range. It’s a new high from yesterday, and there’s still a little room between current price and the high of the base, so I’ll glance to see if the opportunity is still there

JPY – N – This is up slightly, but still within that base, somewhat. Now the base is looking more like a very slight down-trend, so I’ll see how that plays out in the coming days.

AUD – N – This had a decent amount of strength behind it for nearly all of April (with a couple drops in there), but it dropped on some news that happened overnight. Caused me to lose a trade.. That’s neither here nor there, and at this point in AUD, I don’t want to touch it

NZD – L/N – This has pushed higher again and is at the top of the range it’s been in all month. I like this to the upside if it can (finally) break out of that range, so I’ll look for that. If not, tomorrow or next week, I’ll probably look to short this within the range

CHF – N – This is on an up-day today, but I’m still quite bearish here. When/if this heads back down, I’ll see if there’s opportunity to short it, or if it doesn’t head down, I’ll wait for confirmation of a trend-change
