Equity futures are down fairly significantly again. Let’s see how those are affecting currencies
USD – N – This is up a little today, but not much, and it’s already made a new lower low. After 3 strong down-days, I’m not ready to take this long, and it doesn’t look like it’s moving down right now, but maybe it will, I’ll keep my eye on this and maybe look to short it later
CAD – S – This seems to be ranging, and it’s not really confirming a direction. I could see shorting this — there’s a decent amount of room between current price and the next support level — but I don’t love it. I’ll glance at a CAD chart or 2 (if there are any longs) but I won’t chase anything here
Today’s Pairs
GBP/CAD – Long
EUR/GBP – Short
GBP/USD – Long
EUR – S – This seems to be maintaining it’s base. I could short this just to the next support level potentially, but I don’t know if that makes for a great trade. That said, I’ll still look at EUR charts because I don’t know where the opportunity is going to be
GBP – L – This is on it’s 4th up-day and it stalled out at some resistance, so if it can push through that, I like this to the up-side a lot
JPY – N – This moved higher yesterday, but closed closer to it’s open (but still up — also, that move made a higher high and a higher low). Today’s candle has made another higher low, but not quite a higher high, and it’s stalled out at some resistance. I almost like this to the upside, but I’ll need it to make another higher high before I pull the trigger in JPY
AUD – N – This is in a bit of a base over the last 3 days. It’s down a bit today when fundamentals say it should be up. I think I’m just going to leave this alone until in has a more confirmed move to one direction or the other
NZD – N – Same as AUD
CHF – N – This pulled back off the highs from a week ago, looked like it was going to base but pushed a bit lower, and now it’s in a pretty clear base. Yesterday and the day before it had .5% – 1% moves in either direction, but closed almost at it’s open, and todays candle seems to be following that already. I going to leave this alone until there’s more confirmation of direction
